Alecia Whitaker visited North High a year or so ago and was a wonderful speaker. The students enjoyed her presentation very much. I recommend her! And I will also be checking on a return visit for North.

Alecia held the attention of our high school students with her expressive reading and insights about her first-hand understanding of the writing and publishing process. It was great to have her share her experience!

Alecia Whitaker was a delight to have at both our middle school and public library. She was fun, outgoing, educational, and the kids absolutely loved her. Not only did she win the hearts of the children of Meade County, but even those of whom are children at heart.

Mrs. Whitaker is an awesome author to visit your school! She is very professional, but also so personable with the students. She talks about the process she goes through to write a book and helps kids see that writing can be purposeful and fun. She read an excerpt from her fabulous book, The Queen of Kentucky, which the kids immediately wanted to check out from the library! If you have the opportunity to have an author visit your students, Alecia Whitaker is a terrific choice!

Today, Alecia Whitaker, a Kentucky author, presented to a group of 7th graders at our school. I was very impressed with the program and her ability to engage and connect with the students. Her book is titled The Queen of Kentucky and the student group reading the book thoroughly enjoyed it… even the boys. We will definitely invite her back to Jessie Clark again in the future!

The students from Meade County High School really enjoyed Alecia Whitaker's author visit. She was very approachable and the students could really relate to her. I think there was a small group that would have stayed and talked book writing with her all afternoon if we would have let them. The writing activities she had planned for them were great. I wish we had planned more time for her to spend with them.
